As a traditional alpine lodge, access includes stairs and split-level communal areas, and full wheelchair accessibility is limited. Guests with mobility requirements are encouraged to contact us directly so we can discuss individual needs before booking.

For safety and operational reasons, the main kitchen at Vagabond Lodge is not available for guest use. However, guests have access to a dedicated shared area with a fridge, kettle, microwave, and toaster for light use throughout their stay.

Where to Find Us
by car
Vagabond Lodge is located at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, approximately 15–20 minutes from Highway 1 in Golden, BC.
From Trans-Canada Highway 1, take Exit 780 for Golden / Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and follow signs into town on Highway 95 / 11th Avenue N. Continue straight through Golden, crossing the Columbia River, then follow signs for Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. Turn left onto Kicking Horse Mountain Resort Road and continue uphill for approximately 7 km on the main paved road until you reach the resort base area.
From Highway 95, follow the same route via Golden: join Highway 1, take Exit 780 into town, cross the Columbia River, and continue up the mountain road to the resort.
On arrival, follow signage for guest parking at the resort base, just steps from the gondola.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Vagabond Lodge is accessible via year-round shared shuttle services between Calgary International Airport (YYC) and Golden, with increased frequency during the winter season. Private ski shuttles are also available for direct, pre-booked transfers. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak travel periods.

Vagabond Lodge is approximately a 10-minute drive from the town of Golden, where you’ll find restaurants, cafés, breweries, shops and an opportunity to see some of the sights of Golden like the Skybridge.

Yes. On the mountain within walking distance, guests can dine at The Jeffery Room, Eagle’s Eye Restaurant at the top of the gondola, Whitetooth Grill, and the local après ski bar, Peak’s Grill. In Golden town, there is a growing selection of excellent local restaurants and casual dining options. Our personal favourites are Reposados for Tacos and Tequila and Eleven22.

Yes, we have a cosy communal bar area for guests to relax in after a day in the mountains. Please note, we do not serve or sell alcohol on-site, but guests are welcome to bring their own drinks to enjoy in the space for relaxed wine, games, and après-ski evenings.

A shuttle service operates between Kicking Horse Mountain Resort and the town of Golden during winter and summer. Please note it has limited, scheduled hours. Local taxi services are also available for additional flexibility outside of shuttle times during your stay at Vagabond Lodge.
